Public Intervention/Field Study. Group Project with Mühlenkampf.
Mühlenkampf was invited by the Vivarte foundation to do a series of projects in Garath (a suburb of Düsseldorf). To get a feeling for the place and its inhabitants, we set up a café and asked the residents to give us paid guiding tours of their city:
We went to a place where there is absolutely no tourism, and asked people to show us around, like tourists.
For the first time, people could show their favourite spots in their home to our group of tourists — with the senior from the local CDU providing a very different path and view of the area then a 10-year-old boy.
The notes and stories were the basis for further projects there.
